University students claim Title IX process failed them
Published on Wednesday, November 16, 2022

Albany-Schenectady-Troy-Capital Region-Title IX

Schools are required to designate Title IX coordinators to handle complaints and coordinate investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct including rape, stalking and dating violence. They must offer accommodations to victims and levy sanctions on those found responsible. Colleges must ensure that students are free from gender-based harassment or violence.

School policies and their application must be geared toward protecting all members of the college community. Title IX officials and particularly Title IX investigators must remain impartial in order for there to be any semblance of a working process. While those found responsible for policy violations should suffer the consequences of their actions all involved are entitled to a fair and unbiased process.

The Title IX attorneys at Pattison, Sampson, Ginsberg & Griffin are certified Title IX investigators. They are familiar with the Title IX laws and can offer guidance to those seeking help.
